So, not sure if anyone has heard of this, but it's ridiculous. THQ and EA are both going to start putting one-time use codes in with all their games that gives access to online multiplayer. If you buy a game used and the code has been used, you have to pay to have access to the online content. Absolutely ridiculous. THQ will be starting this with UFC next week, and EA will be starting with Tiger Woods.

True, but it's still fucking retarded. I mean, it doesn't really affect me, since I don't often buy used games, but I still think it's stupid. I just hope it doesn't catch on with other companies, because it could potentially hurt a lot of places like Gamestop, who make a good chunk of their money being able to buy and sell used games.

Yup, not much of a used game buyer (used to be when I made little to nothing). Sucks for Gamestop, not so much for Best Buy.

Good I hope this really hurts Gamestop for trying to rip me off when I sell one of my games back to them for $5. Then later I see the used version on the self for $30+.

I dunno if anyone rents games anymore, I haven't in forever, but this also applies to rented games. So no online play with an EA/THQ rental.

Why? You're the tard who tried selling it back to them? Sell it through legit websites such as bluray.com, highdefdigest.com, or on ebay, half, or Amazon.

Well, EA is going to offer a free 7 day trial for it, so you could use that during your rental.

I'd prefer it not hurt Gamestop, because that's where I buy all my games.

And it's not really their fault, it's just policy, and any place that buys back games and sells them used will do the same thing. They generally give you about 40% of what they sell it for. And if you only got $5 on...that is probably only like, $18 now. Unless you just did cash and not store credit, than I guess it's feasible since they give 20% less in cash (which only makes sense. The reason why they'd give more in credit is because you're then more likely to take the credit and spend more money with them).

And like Mamba said, if you don't like their policies, sell it online or to a buddy who's willing to pay more for it.

THQ will allow users who buy used copies of their games to play them online if they pay an additional $5 charge.

    Not terrible. Not cool, either.
