"The Toronto Blue Jays have released designated hitter Randy Ruiz and he has signed a contract with Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles of the Japan Pacific League. For the first time in his 12-year professional career, Ruiz, 32, made it to the big leagues out of spring training this year, but was hitting only .150 with one home run in just 40 at-bats.
