I don't know about the Nets changing names, but I like the idea of the Bobcats getting a name that's not so lame.

Instead of going through the whole "Jazz should be in New Orleans, Hornets should be in Charlotte" type arguments, I propose the Bobcats change their name.

Don't know what they should change it to though.

Back in 1994, the Nets were serious about changing their name to the Swamp Dragons but ultimately, decided against it.

You guys know they are moving to Brooklyn in 12-13 season? How about the New Jersey Avoiders. Then when they go to Brooklyn, they can be the Brooklyn Avoiders. :devilwink:

They will be playing in Newark next season also. What is Newark known for?

Since the new owner keeps emphasizing that he wants the team to have great international appeal, how about "the Internationals" or "World Team"? We can help their efforts by trading Rudy, rights to Claver and Patty Mills (or Petteri Koponnen) for Devin Harris.

He can call the team whatever he likes - as long as he arranges a Jimmy Hoffa retirement party for Stern.
