Well, Oregons best governors were Republicans when they were governors, but wouldn't be considered them today. For example, McCall? Not even close to being a "republican" today. And it's kind of laughable that you think a governor has that much clout in the economic say of the state. Neither Ted or John are really good governors, but it's not like the Republican candidates for Governor in Oregon over the last 20 years have done much after they ran.

They were fiscally conservative Republicans. They were old school. There are plenty of Republicans, or people who would vote Republican if we had those types of candidates again.
