The people spoke Thursday on condition of anonymity because the announcement has not been made public. An official announcement was likely to come Friday. One of the people familiar with the deal said Collins agreed to a four-year contract. Team president Ed Stefanski interviewed Collins on May 1, and he emerged as the leading choice to replace the fired Eddie Jordan.
