I love this. And as far as "this can't happen...LA's part-owner"...last I checked 21% of the shares of a corporation couldn't outvote 79%. So all the board has to do is "take the vote to the shareholders", and it's cold, dark and quiet in 1/4 of LA.
Is that a public company, because if it is I'm dumping shares on rumors that the company may be pressured for politcal reasons to dump a significant client. I think it is a great idea for the state of Arizona, but a terrible idea for the power company.
didn't it say in that article (it may not have, and I read it somewhere else) that New Mexico's standing in line to buy the electricity not going to LA?
Not in that article but maybe in another one. I would hope they would have some back up plan. Heck why is Arizona loyal to Cali . . . if I owned that company I would put New Mexico and Cali into a bidding war. Maybe I should buy stock in the company . . . clearly I know what I'm tlaking about, want a stock tip.
The chances of this happening are considerably less than the chances of Lebron, Kobe, Bosh, and Wade all playing for the Blazers next year. barfo
Ah, sweet, sweet, Schadenfreude. I vote for that 25% reduction to be exercised at Staples Center during all L*ker games.
