I'm sick of all these articles blaming Vince Carter for what's wrong with the Nets. Who draws up the plays, which are nothing more than isolation plays that bail out the defense? Who's the one who doesn't pull him to the side and tell him to attack the basket more? Who's the one who doesn't draw up plays for Jefferson and Krstic? Who's the one who abandonded the pick and roll with Nenad that KILLED the Heat in the regular season and Indiana in the playoffs? The answer to all the above questions is: (drum roll please) LAWRENCE FRANK. Nobody wants to blame him? Why? Cus he was the leader of the Nets when they went on that ridiculous 14 game win streak, the second one in his tenure? He is by far the worst Xs and Os coach in the playoffs and one of the worst in the league. All season, he's drawn up isolation plays for Vince, even when Jefferson and Krstic are red-hot. Can't blame Vince for listening to his coach. If he chose to do his own thing, that would lead to a mutiny against Frank, which actually would have been a good thing but it would have been another knock against Carter's career.I think the blame for the series falls flat on Frank. What has he done positive in the playoffs? He has not made one adjustment, even Jefferson said that in the Indiana series that they made no adjustments and luckily their original game plan worked. But against the Xs and Os master (Pat Riley) you have to make adjustments. Frank has failed to done so
I totally agree with you. Frank depened on Carter to much. Carter isnt the one who makes the plays. Hes just doing what hes told to do. I love Frank and he has done a great job so far. I hate to say it, but maybe its time for a change?
The major blame goes to Jason Kidd for firing Byron Scott and getting Frank here in the first place. Frank is terrible, Collins is terrible, and Robinson is a damn idjit.
I have no problem with Vince Carter. Great ball player. Brings what he needs to bring to the Nets, no need to say much more
Wat bothers me is that for 44 minutes we're passing the ball around, getting good shots and they just aren't falling. You can't control that but I don't feel that a drastic change of philosophy needs to occur. We all know Vince can score but when you run the same play 15 times in a row (iso for Carter) then even the Bobcats can stop him thenLike I said in my blueprint, I don't think that Frank is necessarily a bad coach but he's still a few years away from being a good playoff tactician but we're in 'win now' and we need a coach who can do that
