False. The what end up being actual purgatory scenes at the end they explicitly explain that the events on the Island were real, they had consequences, and the ones who survived were alive. Hurley mentions to Ben that he was a great number two, and Ben replies he was an excellent number one which clearly suggests that life went on after Jack died. Kate mentions she missed him so much, implying she got off the Island with the rest of the people in the plane (Miles, Alpert, Lapidus, Claire, and Sawyer). I mean, they made it pretty clear that they didn't die in the plane crash and that the purgatory sideways line of season six was just a place they met up when they died to accept their very real, non-plane crash related deaths, let go, and then move on if they were ready (Ben, Ana Lucia, Alex, Walt, etc were not ready). It really wasn't that hard to understand, really. Unless people who didn't get that it wasn't purgatory/all were dead for six years simply stopped listening after Jack said "I died, too" and started flinging shit against the walls instead of listening to the explanations.
MASH reruns are still on the air. The finale was the most watched TV show ever, at the time, and held that distinction for several years.
yeah I've watched MASH in sindication for years and never actually saw the Finale live but saw it about 10-15 yrs ago. On topic, I loved the final episode and the return of all the characters I enjoyed watching. Yeah all the questions were not answered, but I expected that. The island was these 'lost' in life characters chances are redemption and doing something with their life that was good. This was a great series and I'm glad it lasted 6 seasons. It's definitely in my top 10 all time TV series no doubt. My wife and I plan on going back and watching the entire series in a yr or two.
ah damn, that brought a tear to my eye ... I'm just glad I wasn't drinking anything when I opened that up
I'll be darned. It really is possible to do a spit-take with a mouth full of steamed rice and spicy teriyaki chicken.
