1. Greg stays healthy and comes into camp in great shape. 2. We trade for Harris or Parker 3. Rudy and Martel finally become consistent 4. Nate hires a high profile assistant to run his new motion offense. 5. PA gets a clean bill of health (this should be everyones biggest concern, if for some reason PA dies we are in deep shit) 6. ??????
1. Catch a couple nice brown trout in my backyard. 2. Catch some nice rainbows at Diamond Lake when we camp there in August. 3. Continue selling homes at my current pace.
1) Trade up for Derrick Favors. I like Cousins a lot but Favors elite athletic ability at 6'10.25" (250 lbs.) is extremely intriguing. 2) A more realistic option is Larry Sanders. A legit 6'10" with an insane standing reach that's identical to Oden at 9'4". I see him playing a Chris Anderson role with this team. 3) McMillan to throw away his two-play Isolation offense playbook and change his mindset to up the tempo! 4) Dante Cunningham to work on his mid-range game. With his consistent jumpshot, he'd be even more effective if he can pump fake and drive more. He should be the long-term backup PF. 5) Hire the Phoenix Suns trainers to fly to Portland and train the Blazer trainers.
Maris, I was reading this list today and saw the Bend area. For the last 2 quarters Bend has topped the federal index in depreciation, 23% in 1st quarter 2010. So you're doing very well. http://www.usnews.com/money/retirem...10-cities-for-retirement-property-steals.html
Number 2 and 3 may conflict. If we get Harris or Parker, it's likely that one of, if not both of Webster and Rudy are gone.
1) Diverge from the iso heavy offense this team has foolishly employed...Let's hope Nate (and Roy) was paying attention in the playoffs. 2) Get a post presence. This team has ZERO inside game outside of oft-injured Oden and it is a MAJOR Achilles heal for this team. You have a high post player in Camby, a jump shooting PF in Aldridge, a two bangers with little offensive game in Przybilla & Pendergraph and an undersized tweener in Cunningham. They have GOT TO address this problem. Add in the fact that both Camby & Przybilla have 2? 3? years left most likely and the need for a young big becomes even more important. 3) Find a legit scorer off the bench, Webster & Bayless are way to inconsistent and Rudy fell of the map and I can't see him returning. Bringing in a veteran who can score in bunches would help, possibly could get this from a rookie, but with Nate's tendencies towards playing rookies, unlikely. This team struggles to score, they need to add a player who can get his own shot and\or generate offensive opportunities for himself and others, be it a post player or a wing. The team cannot rely on hot\cold performances from Webster, Bayless and Rudy (if he is even on the team next year) to provide a much needed bench scoring. 4) Address the PG position, present and future. Either sign\acquire a veteran PG to back up Miller in the interim, bring over Koponen to provide b\u to fill that 3rd PG spot or draft a PG or hybrid PG in the draft
1. Wining & Dining Bosh enough to get him to want to come here. Send LMA, Bayless and Rudy for him. 2. Get lucky and have Avery Bradley fall to us at 22 and pick him to replace Bayless. 3. Sign Mike Miller 4. Bring in a good Xs/Os coach to replace Nate's sticky-note of a playbook 5. Greg Oden getting his knee, and his head right. 6. Batum gaining muscle. 7. Martell AND Batum developing some sort of post game. 8. Totally agree on swiping Phoenix's trainers. Anyone that can get Grant Hill to play entire seasons and turn Steve Nash into Mr. Unbreakable are worth their weight in diamonds.
