The Nets aren't in a hurry to hire a new head coach, but the New York Daily News reports that they want to talk with Mike Brown.

Brown was fired by the Cavaliers on Sunday night.

"There are a lot of good candidates out there and we are going to do our due diligence on all of them," New Jersey president/general manager Rod Thorn said.

The Nets are also believed to be interested in Boston assistant Tom Thibodeau.

How great would it be for the Nets to sign Mike Brown and he ends up being the reason LeBron chooses to sign with the Nets?

Or the reason Lebron doesn't go to the Nets.

Mike Brown has coached the team to 60+ win seasons and to the NBA Finals, a place the franchise has never reached. Yet the Cavs still fired him. Seems like the only safe coach in the NBA is Jerry Sloan.

But if LeBron doesn't come to the Nets, the team ought to at least consider hiring Mike Brown.

lol can you imagine that if they get both Brown and LeBron, that would mean Cleveland made their biggest mistake in their existence.

If Lebron wanted Brown around, the Cavs wouldn't even think about firing him.

Yup. LeBron does not like Brown, and I'm sure the Cavs made sure of that before firing him.

Possibly, but I wonder why they didn't let him go last season after losing to Orlando in the ECF?

Probably because they won a franchise high in games and he was the Coach of the Year. I don't think there has ever been a Coach of the Year who was fired at the end of the season.

Not taking the 'Bron factor in consideration, I don't actually like Brown as a coach.
