http://www.premierleague.com/page/Headlines/0,,12306~2059362,00.html Merida has been at Arsenal since 2006, having previously been part of the youth set-up at home-town club Barcelona, but his deal with the Gunners expires on 30th June. The 20-year-old will be presented by the Europa League champions at 12.30 local time on Friday at the Vicente Calderon stadium. Merida enjoyed his most productive season to date in the Gunners first-team, scoring an excellent long range strike in the Carling Cup win over Liverpool and a late goal to ensure Arsenal left Bolton Wanderers with all three points in the Barclays Premier League. However, despite a season that saw the Gunners pick up several injuries, Merida could not force his way into the team on a regular basis, generally restricted to a place on the substitute's bench or left out of the squad completely. In total, Merida played 16 times for Arsenal, scoring twice. He was also sent out on loan to Spanish side Real Sociedad in 2008.
