i'm still trying to figure out what part of his comment implied racism. the idea that some criminals would want to get revenge on the people who got them caught certainly isn't something specific to latinos.
It's my opinion that the criminals being latinos led him to make the post and statement in the first place. A not-so-thinly-veiled "look at what havoc the wetback illegals are causing in this country! Lock 'em all up and ship 'em out!" sentiment.

I would try to get ID on them if they are illegal first. Like finger prints and photos and all, but I guess they probably do that automatically. But I do agree if they break a crime, definitely get them out of here. In reference to the OP; it is sad that someone has to move from their house out of fear of being broken into again. Maybe just get a security system?

My friend who is a Washington County Sheriff has said that many security system companies won't send police until after they call the house and get no response (due to the high number of false alarms). Now, that may not be 100% accurate but regardless, as someone who grew up in a home with an alarm system I can tell you first hand the response time is less than reassuring.
Well moving to another house seems like an equally daunting problem. Especially for a hypothetical vengeance.
I don't think he was saying that at all, but since you seem to be extremely defensive about it, are you saying you have some sort of evidence they are not illegal aliens or the product of illegal aliens? Are you offering any indication that they are not gang members? Are you ignorant to the fact that gangs are known for "retribution" and payback? Are you denying the vast majority of Hispanic criminals in America are either illegal aliens or the children of illegal aliens? We're talking about criminals here who happen to be Hispanic, not legal citizens who happen to be Hispanics, and not even illegal aliens who are otherwise law-abiding Hispanics. Maybe you're too racist to realize they aren't all the same.

Here in Beautiful Central Oregon not many criminals break into homes, because they know face the likelyhood of being shot in the home, or chased down the road and shot trying to escape.
My first reaction on the article was the fact that these guys were either 18-23 in age, did this as test for themselves to get away with and didn't have any criminal problems. Their plan backfired and now they know where this family lives when they get out and this was my first thought. The family made the news, the teenager was interviewed, etc and I could see one of these intruders come back in 6 years and do something nasty and its nothing that has to do with race.
Okay, I can accept that rationale. I wouldn't think in those terms, but I can see how someone could. especially if they've known or experienced that kind of behavior in the past.
