SAT stands for Scholastic Assessment Test. This is what colleges look at when thinking of accepting you, your SAT score.I heard this test was very boring,I haven't taken it yet but I wish you good luck.

When i took the SAT last year, i found it pretty easy. It is damn boring and long, but you have to take it to get into a university. The only thing is, i was able to take it before they made the essay part madatory. I believe i had a 1180 or so on the test. Not the greatest score, but above average. The hightest score is a 1600. There is also the ACT test, i found it a lot harder. I made a 24 on that one. The highest score on that one is like a 32. Well anyone taking it this year, good luck. :happy0144:

[IMG] At you guys having the added portion to the SAT, I believe we were the final year class before they made the change, so I made out fine. 1190 on the 2nd go around, 1100 on first. I suggest everyone take the SAT's more then once. PSAT's are a big waste of time imo. And I never took the ACT, because it wasn't needed for the colleges I applied to.

i took the old one a few years ago. Got a 1260, with 95% verbal and 55% math compared to the others who took it, or something like that. I guess it's clear where my talents lie :PBut it all just kinda sucked especially cause i'm not going to an american college after all now, and i really don't need the SAT.

The PSATs are mostly so people can fail and hire expensive tutors and buy expensive tutoring devices. I got like a 1240 on them or something, compared with a 1540 on the SATs, so its probably not a good barometer of how youd do on the real SAT.

I remember there being a science section that wasnt the greatest thing ever.It was really hard science, not your basic biology, chemisty and physics. To be honest, this stuff was so hard that i didnt know what some of it was even talking about. Just stick with the SAT. Most ppl take that one anyway.

I was also part of the final class that was able to take the SAT before they added the essay portion... I made a 1310, but it should have been higher. I screwed up on the math section a little, which is normally where I do my best, and got a higher score than I expected on the verbal.I also recommend taking the ACT, and possibly SAT math depending on which university you plan on going to. Talk to their admissions people and ask them if they would give you credit for certain math classes if you got a high enough score on your SAT Math. My friend took it, and was able to get credit for a math class and had it count towards his college GPA.

I took the first new one and it wasn't too bad considering that colleges don't care much for writing scores. On math and verbal, I scored an 1160 which was good enough to get into Rutgers so I guess I was successful
