Isn't that basically the same as saying "a block away"? Perhaps that's how that concept is communicated in Turkey.
Well, I see he has come out and stated he wants out for sure, thereby dropping his trade value even more. If the Blazers still think he could help them, and if they think Przbilla won't be ready to play in the fall, I would think of trading Przbilla and Rudy (plus some filler) for Hedo and the #13 pick in the draft.
The only reason he would have his lawyers doing the talking is to negotiate a buyout. He's willing to cancel his contract, if the Raptors will pay him a few million dollars. This works to the benefit of both the Raptor owners and him. And to his next team, since they will pay much less than $50M. Hedo fits McMillan's system perfectly. Is Pritchard awake or asleep on this possibility? That's basically Bosh for Aldridge and Miller. I'd go for it.
That was my first thought, but it seems too precise to be true, and Toronto is such a spread out city, I find it highly unlikely in the first place. Nothing is in walking distance. A multi-millionaire bought a pad within a block of the local pub? Right...
Hedo isn't a bad player, would be a great role type player for us but I can't see him starting at any position and I certainly can't see us paying more then 5m to 6m a year for him. So in the end no way we get him unless we want a bench playerwho isn't as good as lamar odom is and making what odom is.
Hedo is a fairly average player if we assume this season was just down a season for him. He's 30, so not necessarily about to decline. His contract is merely ridiculous for a league average player. He's not a bad player.
He's 31 now, and I think every year over 30 makes a big huge difference for average players with no defined specialty.
People get too caught up in stats. Hedo's true value to Orlando was much greater than Vince Carter's on-paper advantage, due to the interchangeable matchup problems he and Rashard Lewis created. Bargnani is too one dimensional to wreak that same havoc... Put Hedo on the floor with someone like Dirk and he'll look like an all-star again. I'm not sure Portland has anyone on the front like to bring out that same quality, so he'd probably look about as good here as he has in Toronto.
he's too fuckin emotional - imagine what he'd do to this board - we'd be doing a million posts a month dropping bombs on him....
