i was hoping to see it used against turkey and australia, but since it hasn't been used yet, i don't expect it.

the one real question mark in the US lineup now is who starts next to altidore. gomez and findley both seem to be best used as subs and the team is definitely best with dempsey starting in the midfield so that leaves buddle. i'd like to see him get the call against australia.

other than that spector/cherundolo still are in competition for right back and torres could probably start over clark in the middle with another great performance. the rest of the team seems set with demerit/onyewu/boca in the back, bradley in the middle, donovan and dempsey on the wings, altidore up top, and howard in gaol.

By the way, every time I watch the US I notice how fucking awful Bradley is (the player). Is he?

Agreed with the post above, but I think that's about the extent of what can be said negatively on him. I think Bradley gets a bad rap at times because its not really clear if he's in his best position. He holds the record for goals in a season by an American in Europe when he was playing an attacking midfield with Heerenveen. He plays more of a defensive midfield position with the US and while he's good, its not his best position. With Torres looking like a serious player, I think that's where we'll see him in the World Cup. I think he'd be best in a 5 man midfield with Edu handling defensive responsibilities, Torres being the playmaker and Bradley going box to box. That's just not best for the US under the elder Bradley.

i don't think there's any doubt that bradley is at his best position for the US. he's a defensive midfielder. when has he ever created a goal? he does do a good job when he gets up field of getting into the right place at the right time to finish chances or put away rebounds but he just doesn't have the skill or creativity to be an attacking mid.

I didn't say he should be an attacking mid. He would be at his best if he had the freedom to get forward, which he doesn't have when he's at d-mid.
