In the following video of highlights from the 2009 Nike Hoop Summit, you can see the impact Seraphin can have in a game (he's No. 11 on the World team). Notable marks in the video: 1:19, 2:14, 2:34, 2:41 (block on John Wall). http://blog.oregonlive.com/blazers/2010/06/trail_blazers_mock_draft_kevin.html
Well he hurt his knee right after Jonathan Givony slotted him at our spot in his latest mock draft, so yes, I do believe he would fit right in.
^^^ I see what you did there That said, the Blazers already have a guaranteed contracts for Danteff Penderham.
I thought Seraphin has a knee injury? Or did Kevin Pritchard start a rumor that Seraphin has a knee injury so he'll be available when we pick? Hmmm.....
As long as the knee is not a long term problem, I would be happy with this selection. Would rather move up and grab something much higher, but if we do pick 22 I would be pleased to with this beret wearing stinky cheese man.
The guy is a tank -- From Draftexpress' Twitter: 6'9" (w/shoes) 7'3" wingspan 9'1" standing reach 278 lbs.
We don't have ANY projects on our team. I read that on the Olive blog, about "taking another project"... but we don't have any. Bayless? Maybe he was. Two years ago. Oden? I don't think that the best center prospect of his generation can fairly be called a "project". As for Seraphin: I dunno much about him, but he seems like the opposite of the Pendergraph pick: someone who has huge potential but isn't close to ready to contribute. I would prefer someone like that to someone with a low ceiling who STILL isn't ready to contribute. Ed O.
sounds like he's probably pulling out. Quote from his agent followed by the link "We are happy because the injury doesn’t concerned the cruciate ligaments,’ N’Diaye said. ‘We are now monitoring the evolution of his injury, and we continue to talk with NBA teams. But it is never easy to draft an injured player. No decision has been taken yet but this is more and more likely Kevin will wait until next year." http://www.slamonline.com/online/nba/2010/06/seraphin-will-likely-wait-until-next-year/ I haven't seen him play outside the youtube stuff, but I'm a big fan of athletic defenders in the frontcourt. There doesn't seem to be much info on what exactly is up with his knee injury, but on paper he sounds like someone I'd support taking a flyer on STOMP
From Draft Express Twitter: Kevin Seraphin is in Treviso getting measured. Came out 6-9 in shoes, 278, w/7-3 wingspan, 9-1 standing reach. Walking normal, knee is fine. 2010-06-07 12:45:01 278? Holy shiznit!
He doesn't look overweight. I am starting to think he is built more like Alonzo Mourning, which isn't a bad thing. That dude was tough as nails.
