By the conclusion of the 2010 NBA Finals, the Lakers and Celtics will have met a total of 12 times. To date, Boston has won nine and LA two (with the Celtics having won the first eight meetings). In a rematch of the 2008 NBA Finals, the Lakers and Celtics will again play for the NBA Championship. Unlike 2008, however, the Lakers will be the team with home-court advantage. New players for both teams have entered the Finals picture, most notably the acquisition of Ron Artest by the Lakers. Boston's Rajon Rondo is also much improved over 2008 and how the Lakers defend him will be key to the series.
