I don't have the time nor the energy to read through that entire thread, but my guess is that nothing is going to happen. We'll hear so much speculation as to where Garnett is heading next season, or whether he's going to be traded at all, during the offseason. Also, if these discussions were serious, they would be all over the place in terms of media attention. There is very little chance that the Wiz would be able to land Garnett without giving up two of the following three players: Gilbert Arenas, Caron Butler, and Antawn Jamison. Ideally you would want to keep Arenas to pair with KG, but the Wolves will be asking for atleast two of those players in return.
Giving up Jamison isn't a big heartbreaker, Arenas aint going to be traded, Caron i hope he doesnt get traded. Maybe a Jamison, Haywood, Daniels trade? Either way, I'm hearing this isn't true but a rumor is a rumor, it still could be true.
Yeah, I don't see the Wiz trading Gilbert, but I'm sure the Wolves wouldn't even consider a deal unless Butler was a part of it.Anyway, like you said a rumor is a rumor, and it is always fun to speculate during the offseason...
Yeah, Even a more credible trade for this though: Micheal Ruffin for KG but lol yeah i agree with you mostly because of the amount of potential caron has been showing.
You shouldnt listen to that bull sh*t dude. Garnett and McHale stated that he would not be traded. It is just a bunch of people making up stupid rumours that will never happen.
I doubt this will happen. Ive heard so much trade talk lately w/ him im not believing any of them until one of them happens if he does even get traded.
Garnett to Washington? I don't like it. This would be Iverson/Webber all over again. Arenas is slightly a better team player than Iverson and Garnett is head and shoulders over Webber but both of them are two great scorers and the rest of the team would be excluded.I'm sure it would help but is it a great move for the future. Garnett is over the hill whether we like it or not, he's a great player but he's not what he was in 2004. Garnett will be a cap KILLER and unless the Wiz were making a serious push in 2007 it's not really a great move anyway.
What would the Wolves gain from trading Garnett? They would get half his value and ticket sales would nose dive.
I don't see what they could offer for him. But, its not like he wants to playing in Minnesota anymore.
Well the rumor is that Garnett wants out. That is the rumor, but it's also not sealed of that Garnett is staying till we hear it from him.
Yeah, we dont even need to give away 2 of our big 3 players if we wanted to get KG in a trade. KG is still very good, but we dont need to give away Jamison AND Butler. I dont really want to trade Daniels, since he's really helped us off the bench, but if we were to aqquire KG, we would have to throw him in the deal. Here's what I'm thinking: T'Wolves trade: Kevin Garnett and Trenton HassellWizards trade: Antawn Jamison, Antonio Daniels, Brendan Haywood, 2nd round draft pick Why for Minnesota? Jamison provides the much-needed scoring in the frontline after KG's departure, brings horrid defense, but can make very difficult shots and has good range for a 6'9 SF/PF. He also brings leadership to the Wolves squad, and has shown no signs of decline in his game. Daniels is a hard-nosed defender, and can give you 20 pts off the bench when you dont expect it. Good veteran, brings leadership out there on the court, and is a good influence to the younger players. Haywood is a defensive-minded center with limited offensive abilites that can still be polished nicely if the Wolves hire a good assistant coach that will help him reach his potential. He has a monster wing span, and has the right amount of bulk you'd look for in a typical C. And he's also still very young. Why for Washington? Well, this is pretty much self-explanatory. The Wizards will finally have the great big man they havent had in years. Imagine KG along with Arenas and Butler. KG has a good mid-range jumper, no decline in his game at all, and would be very successful with this squad in the weak Eastern Conference. KG brings offense and defense. Arenas and Garnett would be a deadly combo for years to come. Hassell is a solid defender at SG, and he would be the missing piece at SG. His role on this team would like Antonio Daniels' role, bringing much-needed scoring off the bench, solid defense, and overall give us productive minutes. I know its just fantasy bullsh**, but c'mon you'd have to think that it is a realistic trade.
Zards now that i've put it in prespective i realize that it's not realistic. If KG wanted to leave the Timberwolves every team in the NBA would be offering trades, this one would not pass through, i'm sure they would ge ta much better offer from another team.
Yeah Garenas I agree with you about teams having more to offer. If KG were to go to Chicago, they would give them much more than we will give them. Players like Luol Deng is what the TWolves would love to have.
