According to the Detroit News, Chris Wilcox has decided to exercise his player option for next season, one that will pay him $3 million next season. As Ted Kulfan of the newspaper notes "he could prove valuable this summer in a trade package if matching salaries don't correspond." Remember, it's been reported the Pistons could potentially be trying to trade up from their No. 7 pick in the draft in an effort to select Derrick Favors or DeMarcus Cousins. It's been rumored that Richard Hamilton or Tayshaun Prince could be on the move, and with Prince being in the last year of his deal, Pistons GM Joe Dumars could potentially package him and the No. 7 pick to move up and snag Favors or Cousins. Depending on what sort of a deal is potentially made around these players, Wilcox could be used to match salaries. Source: Detroit News
