"Right now I have a couple months off, so I've actually been toying with the idea of maybe going down a weight class. Since I don't have a fight for a couple months, I've just been watching what I eat and see how my body without trying to put size on; what my natural weight will fall now at now since I have lifted a lot lately to add size. I'm kind of curious where I think I would fall at. Because some of the guys I train with that are light heavyweight, bone structures are the same. Sometimes I stand next to Forrest and I think I'm in the wrong weight class."

I'm starting to think Frank Mir is kind of an idiot.

He could do it if he took a bunch of time off and just let all his muscles deteriorate away. Actually I'd be doubtful he could do it even if he tried that strategy, wasn't he around 240-250 before his bulk up regiment?

Didn't he way in at 235 once or twice? I think he could do it, the guy hires genius dieticians (spelling)

    I think he'd be a monster at 205.

Interesting. I saw an interview of him after the Carwin loss and he said he was going back to his old weight (I think about 242 lbs) where he didn't weight train. Said he realized in that fight that the extra weight did him no good because his mentality as a fighter is too entrenched in fighting with skill and even if his strategies were in overpowering guys like Carwin/Lesnar's are he couldn't catch up to them strength wise anyway.

Dunno if he can get down to 205 but I would be skeptical about how good he would be at that weight class.

he'd be to too slow fighting as a 205.. he'll probably be a very good gatekeeper in the hw division..

Honestly Mir is the kind of guy that would benefit from a 235 weight class but since that's not gonna be happening anytime soon he should just stick to HW.
