The Cavaliers are waiting. Hey LeBron, we just hired one of the best GMs in the NBA. Blazers are such a joke I hate it.
I liked the whole "Warkentien being evil and meddlesome" and "Bickerstaff the assistant coach" story lines a whole lot better.
You know, sometimes I envy Sonic fans..they don't have to worry about their ownership fucking things up anymore.
Walsh is looking for his replacement. KP to NY, Assistant GM for one season, Walsh becomes president after next season, KP becomes GM, with just as much money to spend, and a place people actually want to go to.
Yeah, I imagine KP will probably end up getting the better deal out of this. I could see him going to a team and having more success there than whatever poor GM decides to be the GM here. Paul Allen doesn't know how to win.
I was thinking the same exact thing. It just feels like there is a weird dark cloud hanging over the organization right now. On a related note I won't be renewing my tickets this season
I'm glad I started lowering my expectations back in December when Greg's knee exploded; the series of kicks to the pouch since then just makes this latest episode in the Paul Allen/Vulcan saga more amusing than anything. The sad thing is that this is probably the best we can expect, 'cause when PA kicks the bucket and his sister takes over and sells the team to a group of investors in Kansas City, we're not even going to have Allen's clusterfuck management style to deride; we'll be too busy gnashing our teeth over why a hundred moving vans are lined up outside the Rose Garden instead.
FYI The Vulcans have always been in charge...just sayin. So when you like the moves it's still the Vulcans. If you have not liked the moves for a long time, then move on because the Vulcans are not going anywhere. KP has done a nice job rebuilding the team under the direction of the Vulcans. Now the Vulcans want someone more talented, and that is not always a bad thing. Say what you want about Patterson and Nash, they set the table for KP as instructed by the Vulcans. We tanked for sure.
Not for quarter season tickets and if you can't put the quoted section together together with my response then reading comprehension is apparently not your thing.
LOL! The team isn't moving to Seattle. PA would sell first and get an expansion team before that would ever happen.
are you mistaking the terms entrenched and irreplaceable, or maybe you think i do? of any of the top brass, Miller is in the strongest position to ride out this storm. and don't bother telling me what i would or would not say, you are not privy to that insight.
I'm not saying what you think or mean to say, but... what storm? The columnist implies that there are already a pair of cornerstones in Miller and Nate that will not be going anywhere any time soon... and I think it's reasonable to ask why Miller would be so firmly entrenched. What evidence is there? I'm not omniscient, but it seems that this time last year if we had to guess we would say that Miller was more vulnerable (if at all) that KP (who seemed worship-worthy). It would be interesting to see why anyone would think Miller is so entrenched (not you, dude; it seems you're saying he's RELATIVELY entrenched, which seems reasonable, but in terms of a new hire of a GM I don't know if that matters as much...) Ed O.
Terribly sorry, didn't mean to offend. By "you" I meant the stereotypical blazer fan. I'm sure you knew KP was on the way out a year ago. By "the top brass" who exactly to do you mean? KP, Miller, and who else? I'm aware of the difference between entrenched and irreplaceable, not sure why you brought that up or how that is germane. barfo
Huh? I didn't see a quote so I guess that means you're barking at me? Okay, I give. The Blazers are moving. To Seattle. They are going to do it during the Grand Floral parade when most of Portland is busy.
