I had a pretty mundane shitty minimum wage job for about 8 years after HS and was wondering if people don't mind talking about it, who does now? I don't judge people by what they do or how much they make, but I'm kinda' curious A) What you guys all do for a living and B) Who's job is the worst? Maybe what some people might think is boring is another persons dream job.
I literally sit at my desk and do nothing. I supervise someone who does my work for me and make sure they are on task with some projects (currently putting together some books for publication). Surf the net all day, its boring as fuck. I have no passion for it.
I work as an unloader at UPS. So I go to work and have to go threw a metal detector just to get into a job were I am going to go into a trailer and put box's from a tier onto a conveyor belt for the next three and a halfs, maybe four if i'm lucky.
I sell used CD's, Books, and DVD's on the interwebs. It's a six-figure job...............counting the decimals.
Not me man. I have the best job on here. As long as you don't count the hours, which can be long, and for months at a time. barfo
Dental risk manager and malpractice claims adjuster. I also do some commercial property claims work. I decided to live where I wanted and do what I don't want to do as opposed to living where I don;t want and doing what I want to do (weather or airport management as I have a degree in aeronautics).
Ooh! Ooh! Me! I'm in graduate school, which is basically a full time job where I have to be constantly jumping through hoops, sucking up to superiors, doing massive amounts of busywork and expected to complete thought-out, long term projects which I don't really care about. Oh, and I'm paying 20k a year to do it. Beat that.
I'm an accountant trying to work my way through the CPA exam....I prepare business and personal tax returns and prepare financial statements for my clients. Pretty boring stuff to some, but I don't mind it.
I work at Elephant's Deli. I am basically the store bitch. I have a walkie talkie and anyone who needs help gets at me. I bus dishes, I serve, I take orders, I pour drinks, dish out food, work the register, stock the beverages, keep all of the dining rooms clean and help anyone with anything they need. I wore a podometer for a couple of weeks and averaged out my miles. I averaged 18.6 miles a shift (4 ten hour shifts per week). Most of those miles are spent whilst carrying heavy things like 60 lb. bus tubs and going up and down stairs (the kitchen and dishwasher are downstairs while the serving area is upstairs). Oh, I take out all of the trash and recycling as well. But, I do get health and dental, decent wages and pretty good tips. Fun times.
lmao would be much easier to hook you up if you didnt have an employer in Oregon. If I was in WA I would no problem!
they have Forest Service stuff over there? I once worked with the Forest Service and the YCC which was only a summer job.
