that's actually washington square. By the Macys upper parking lot. you can see Dick's sporting goods.
When fully loaded, I only get about 12-15 mpg. Otherwise, 17-19 on average. It has a 30 gallon tank, so I can go a long way without filling up. With the baby, this has become the "Family Car". I needed a truck that could carry a ton of metal at one time. I was looking for a Silverado, when I saw that they had a really good deal on this (roughly the same price, once talked down). The Mrs. really wanted something with leather, heated seats (she was already thinking of the baby) and so we got this one. I've been pretty happy with it since. I got my salesmen HHRs, since they didn't need to carry a ton at a time and needed the big-time gas mileage.
I love a good truck as much as the next guy, but that is appalling. We really need to be driving more efficient vehicles.
Believe me, I'd love it to be 40mpg. But until someone builds a truck that can carry a ton, carry 5 passengers, and have more than 20mpg, I'm stuck with this.
Over the last couple of years, multiple times a week delivering welding supplies. Don't do much of that anymore. Now it's basically the wife's grocery car. I take the train in.
Nice car, Fez. I had a 2.5 RS back in early 2000's. Loved the shit out of it until the tranny went and it was gonna cost 6 grand to fix. I drove around with the busted tranny for a year and then the engine blew up.
I have a 2001 2.5 RS as my rallycross car. Fantastic cars, these are. Not as fast as the WRXs and the STIs for sure, but the chassis was much more enjoyable to drive, imho, and with 300lbs less to carry - a lot more willing to be thrown around. (I have owned a GC, GD and GE chassis cars, we actually still have a GE for the wife). The STIs are fun cars, for sure.
any tranny issues? Mine was a 99, my friend had a 00 and his shit the bed, as well. His was still under warranty, though. He's still got it. That car handled so well, though. I used to take corners at 65- 70 mph on back roads and it was smooth.
What kind of transmission? My car has the manual (I never owned an automatic in any car). After my last race my car's clutch is currently going soft - so I ordered a new steel braided clutch line to replace the one that is in there currently (looks original). Given that the car has more than a 170K miles and it is raced in dirt, I am not upset about it. http://www.z1auto.com/prodmore.asp?model=legacy&cat=driveline&prodid=1474
