in terms of title implications for the winners, this card is kinda weak. Some of the match ups could be exciting though, I always look forward to watching Condit fight.

Always a Chuck Liddell fan so I'll buy this and watch the fight. I'm hoping the time off did him some good and he is true about going back to his wrestling roots. I'd love to see him end his career on a high note. I don't ever expect him to fight for a title again, but watching him fight is usually exciting. Hopefully he can reel off a few good wins in the near future.

Franklin is susceptible to the KO so maybe we'll see one if Chuck can get a good one to land. To be honest though I don't think Chuck is going to do well.

Re: UFC 115: Liddell vs. Franklin

Age has definitely served Franklin better than Chuck, but Chuck is a better wrestler and more powerful striker while Franklin is more precise. It'll be interesting to see this match, as it should be a standup war unless Chuck is serious about taking it to the ground. Can Franklin pick Chuck apart? I don't know if his striking is that good. We'll see though :]

    Either way, WAR LIDDELL!

Preceding this event will be the TUF 11 Finale. Gettin' a little ahead of ourselves.

I hope its a double KO because both guys are washed up. Franklin hasn't been the same since Silva broke his face. I think he should just retire and get into other aspects of the business like coaching and doing some TV analyst work.

    Oh no it is not.

For whatever reason the UFC has decided to have the coach fight (of sorts) before the TUF Finale this year.

He looks to be in fine shape.

Too bad his chin is pretty much shot.

I think it could be an entertaining fight with Franklin so long as Rich doesn't stay on his bike.

Does anyone know where I can find weigh-in information? I know they're open to the public sometimes and I'd love to go check it out.

    June 11th
    GM Place
Doors open at 3.00PM (6.00PM EST)

If you are part of UFC Fight Club you can go to the Chael Sonnen Q&A an hour sooner at 2PM. Sonnen is a bit of a cock but he is probably one of the most honest and outgoing guys in the sport.

    Cool, please do.

You should be able to attend. I can't recall any weigh-in being over capacity but the garage should get several thousand to it.

It is fun. It actually goes pretty quick. Dunno if there will be any heat tho. The fights on this card should be good but they are all business.

Jesus Christ, he looks better than he has in the past 5 years or so.

I hope his chin can hold up for htis fight, at least.

Franklin is going to have to stick and move, I think Chuck will be too strong anywhere else.

Re: UFC 115: Liddell vs. Franklin (Jun. 12th)

The press conference just ended. Dana, Chuck, Rich, Pat, and Mirko were in attendance.

    Notes:

The UFC wants to put on some Fight Nights in Canada in smaller markets like Halifax, Edmonton, Winnipeg, Quebec City, Calgary, etc.. Not that those cities couldn't support PPV's but it seems the UFC will stick to the three big ones (Montreal, Toronto, and Vancouver) for those.

Pat Barry gushed about his admiration for Mirko. He said if he won he'd sit and stare out a window for two years in contemplation. Mirko sharply added that if he landed his left high kick, Barry would still be in the window looking on but with a nurse at his side. All in good fun though.

Mirko was sporting a serious gash on his forehead. He said he got it as a result of some late night antics with ladies in his hotel room. He said they look worse.

The insurance issue came up but was dodged repeatedly. The UFC likely spent upwards of $10-million to insure the event. Dana assured the press that the UFC would still be turning a profit--though if you recall their initial shows in the UK were at a loss so they could break into the market. The UFC is willing to take a hit in the short term for long term gain (the UK is now an MMA hotbed).

Dana said Chuck's lifestyle, not his age or his recent losing results, affected his decision to retire Chuck. Since Chuck has changed, admittedly, Dana is happy to see him fighting again.

Beer will in fact be sold at the GM Place. There was some noise that it wouldn't be. I would like to see two events in the same city, one with beer one without, to see what affect it has on the crowd. If beer = booing than I'm all for the events going dry. When I was in Montreal a brawl broke out in the stands behind us and a spray of beer washed over our section of seats. Can't be a coincidence.
