Try to wrap your head around this one... Robbie Lawler and Renato Sobral are fighting at a catch weight of 195lbs. later this month in the main event of a mini-show called Strikeforce: LA. Lawler recently lost to Jake Shields but defeated Melvin Manhoef in his last bout. Sobral lost to Gegard Mousasi his last time out. The winner of this fight will get a title shot in their respective weight class. So Lawler would fight Renaldo Souza for Strikeforce's soon-to-be-vacant Middleweight Championship, or Babalu would fight Mo Lawal for the Light Heavyweight Championship. I guess this is what happens when you have four or five fighters in each weight class? In related news Coker discussing the Middleweight Title as if it were vacant is a sure sign that Jake Shields is leaving for the UFC as soon as his contract expires in the coming weeks.
^ Seems like Strikeforce bought damaged goods. Hendo's back seems to be a serious problem for the moment and maybe going forward.
Yeah, Hendo's back is pretty messed up according to a few people I know. Heath didn't give me any details as it isn't his business to disclose, but he said Hendo isn't sure when he is going to fight again. He also said that when he fights again, more than likely it'll be @ LHW so he doesn't have to cut.
