Sandro DeAngelis doesn’t mind ponying up for a few extra tickets this football season.

After five years with the Calgary Stampeders — including three all-star nods and one Grey Cup ring — the 29-year-old kicker signed with the Tiger-Cats in February, nearly making it all the way to his home town of Niagara Falls.

“If your last name is DeAngelis, I have to take care of you, but everybody else, I’m sorry, they can’t get freebies,” DeAngelis said with a smile at practice on Tuesday.

“It’s exciting to be home, but I made this move because you want to get as many of those gaudy (Grey Cup) rings as you can, and I felt this organization was heading in the right direction.”

When DeAngelis slips into his No. 4 jersey with the Ticats for the first time, he will begin to forget about the West Division rivalries he had with Calgary.
