Who in your opinion is the best leadoff hitter in baseball today?I can think of two players that i think are at the top of the list. Johnny Damon and Ichiro Suzuki. Both are speed demons on the bases, both get tons of singles and get on base a ton, and both work the pitcher really well. They both wait for that one perfect pitch to hit whether it be the 10 pitch or 2nd pitch they see. I'm sure there are a few others, but there arent any that just pop to mind like Damon and Ichiro do. So, who in your opinion are the best lead off hitters in Baseball?

Ichiro. The guy is maybe the fastest in baseball or just gets a very good start whenever he hits it. He always gets on base when he hits the ball, he has a lot of hits and a high batting average. Ichiro ftw.

Ichiro has not been doing so great the last season or 2, maybe its because Pitchers are figuring him out or something. Dont get me wrong hes still great but just under what he would normally get.I think Juan Pierre is the best lead off man, hes got great speed and always gets contact on the ball.

You must be insane, last year he broke the record for hits in 1 season and you say he hasn't been doing well?Bold statement there, this year he has started slow but is getting back on track to the great hitter he was.He is fast,is a threat to bunt and a great hitter.I would say it's Ichiro without a doubt.

As much as I hate the sell out I have to give the edge to Damon over Ichiro. As good as Ichiro is, the Mariners suck. He gets outstanding statistics and had the hit record but his teams never do anything, that might be why i am picking Damon. Reguardless, I've never seen Ichiro have any big hits in any pressure packed situations, he just gets great batting averages from hitting singles.

He set the MLB record for hits in a season and JUAN PIERRE AS THE BEST?He was I think the 2nd worst BA and OBP for a leadoff hitter..he's a fast guy, that's it.Best leadoff hitter Johnny Damon no doubt. Got the power, speed, OBP, BA and clutch hitting ability and he's a natural leader too.
