Sweet, the Golden State Warriors are moving to St Johns!

They going to play games where they used to film Portland Wrestling?

Well, people have been clamoring for us to get another sports franchise in Portland!

A needed improvement. I love the tweaking of the retro "The City" logo.

I don't really get it. Looks like they chose Copperplate for the font--kind of overdone. I was never a huge fan of their old logo, but this to me crosses the fine line between "retro" and "old and crummy".

The NBA is all about movement, excitement, action. This one seems to say, "Hey! We're next to a bridge! Yay!"

Instead of the Golden Gate, it looks like it's the new east span of the Bay Bridge. Can someone who lives in the Bay Area tell me if I'm right or wrong in that impression?

maxiep - link says it's the yet to be built Bay Bridge

I think it looks fantastic! It really makes me long for our "retro" pinwheel to come back!

I've always thought they should change the name of the franchise to the Golden Gate Warriors to give themselves an inclusive Bay Area reference. There are 3 other teams in California so they can't really claim the whole state in their marketing.... besides, Golden State sounds like something you might buy to enhance a Grateful Dead show

also, the new logo is a big improvement. 'nuff said

Now that's idiotic. They write an article on the new logo, and then don't even show you the whole thing. What's the point of cropping the picture so tight that you can't even see all the words?

I wasn't alive when they had it but I agree. Almost everyone I've ever talked to it about agrees as well. Why don't they?

Considering the way the Warriors have played in recent years, is a bridge the best logo? As in jumping off?

Yeah its the new Bay Bridge they're building. Clearly it calls upon the retro logos while also identifying the team as a Bay Area team. Its kind of unoriginal going back to the retro look but I think its badass to put the new bridge on there and have a logo with something tangible from the Bay Area.

Its not amazing but SOOOOOOOO much better than our current look. Hated the W's logo/colors recently. Love the royal blue and light gold as opposed to the navy blue and orange. I think the Warriors probably looked at their merchandise sales numbers and figured out that their ass ugly current stuff wasn't selling anything while "The City" retro stuff is EVERYWHERE in the BA. I would actually wear some Warriors branded shit with this new color/logo.
