<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>The Kings' Bonzi Wells, one of the top players of the first round, no doubt solidified his position as the top free-agent shooting guard on the market this summer. With only one shooting guard under contract, the undersized Luther Head, the Rockets will seek to add help at the position through the draft, free agency or both.Wells might have seemed out of the Rockets' price range before the playoffs. Many teams likely will remember how well he played against the defending champions, making it tough for a team that can only offer a mid-level exception, likely worth about $5.2 million, to land a guy that made $8 million last season."Like I told them when I got here, I don't want to move anymore," Wells told the Sacramento Bee. "If I am not here next year it's totally up to them. I want to be here, I want to do everything it takes to be a King for the rest of my career but if they want to go in a different direction I understand."At 29, Wells' next contract might be his last. The only chance to woo Wells might be to convince him the Kings have maxed out.</div>Getting Bonzi would be a nice addition and help tmac and Yao in the scoring. Your thoughts?
I also like the idea of bringing him in as well but right now I think the biggest concern for the rockets is defence and getting a Solid PG because we need people who can get Yao and Tmac the ball. Having that said it would be good to have another threat other than Yao and Tmac. Purhaps we can draft a PG or something this year if we dont pick one up in FA or make a trade for him.
bonzi wouldn't be bad but i don't think i'd want him on the rockets team.. he'd probably end up to be like derek anderson was for us this season.however any help would be great. and bonzi is very good. i doubt highly he'll come to the rockets though.
He will probably want to stay with Sacremento. They have a bright future, I see them as a 5th seed next year.
It would be a good pickup for us but I don't really want him on our team. I would want a more younger SG then a aging SG. But Bonzi has defence and can score so I don't really know.
Bonzi Wells? My god that would be a great pickup, having a defensive-orianted player beside Yao Ming, and Tracy McGrady, which will make him a Van Gundy type player is just what we need, I don't watch too many games but if he can make open shots, Id take him anyday. He can rebound like crazy for an SG, but if we do get him then we do need to draft something other than a SG, but Im fine with us taking Bonzi.
Bonzi and defense? That is one part of his game I know he doesn't do. Bonzi is a hard player to fit in a system. A guard that likes to post up just doesn't fit the ideal shooting guard. It might not work well with the system of going to Yao in the inside out game or giving Mcgrady space to operate on beating his man. I think Houston needs more outside shooters and defense to surround Mcgrady and Yao.

There was a reason Bonzi was guarding Bruce Bowen on San Antonio. He let Ginobili go off for 30+ in game 2 of that series. No one on the kings except Artest, Jason Hart, and Kenny Thomas play defense.
Dirk Nowitzki is a great defender also since he rebounds. Bonzi strengths are great low post player and streaky shooter from outside. He can also rebound well. Weaknesses are his defensive awareness and his passing.

Manu is a difficult player to guard, and he blew by Howard and Daniels, whose defense you love. Watch some other games, he's a decent defender because of his strength and speed. He's not Bowen but he's not bad like your implying.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>He let Bowen hit many 3's on him as well. He likes to help off defense too much.</div> Changing your stance? Tony said he got some stats for you.

Bowen hardly ever shoots but I remember some crucial plays in the game where Bonzi left Bowen open in the corner. Even Dirk was able to guard Bowen better. I watched the kings team all year struggling on defense until Artest came. They went from horrible to slightly under par.

You can't put that on Bonzi. <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Even Dirk was able to guard Bowen better.</div> I disagree, Dirk does not do a good job in getting a hand in a 3 pointers face. He just doesn't because he's afraid of going for the shot and leaving the lane open.
I don't watch much Carmelo but I've always here that he is a bad defender. Against Dallas he didn't bring the intensity on defense needed late in games as I remember. Hard to compare the 2 though.
