Howard plays well to help the United States earn a draw after Clark falls asleep early and leaves Gerrard open to an easy goal. Green fumbles the ball and lets in an easy goal from Dempsey. A decent match with a tale of two keepers and two mistakes. In truth, both sides are lucky.

I watched the game, well tried to. Its a different sport, something new to watch. Ties occur a lot? Good job USA.

Well, considering that you only have 3 possible outcames to a match, I think they occur quite a lot.

I'd like to see Joe Hart start for England.

Hart should have started. Fabio Capello also should have never selected Shaun Wright-Phillips, Ledley King, Jamie Carragher, Emile Heskey, Aaron Lennon or Michael Carrick. I would have picked Theo Walcott, Gary Cahill, Leighton Baines, Gabriel Agbonlahor, Adam Johnson and either Tom Huddlestone or Scott Parker instead.

England's ball movement caught Clark sleeping early on and that killed USA, but man does Green FAIL. The most basic technique coaches teach is to get in front of the ball completely. If you watch him, he's not even in front of the ball and that's why it rolls AROUND him, not just bouncing off him and going forward. Good game though, and now I have to get up @ 4 AM to catch the Algeria-Slovenia game in the morning.....maybe

I would of brought Ashley Young, Theo Walcott, Adam Johnson and Scott Parker. I would of kept Heskey, he played quite well today. He is constantly winning headers and set up Gerrard's goal. Milner, Wright-Phillips, and King looked out of depth today. Rooney was invisible too.

I'm looking forward to Slovenia's matches. They only allowed 4 goals in their qualifying group with the Czechs and Slovaks and still scored 18 to boot. They also took out Russia, who defeated heavy favorites Netherlands in EURO 2008.

Ronan, I think Milner's health comes into play for his issues on the pitch. He didn't have the legs.

Yup, he was subbed off at around 30 minutes and has already been cautioned. I'm hoping Capello can get his act together before the next game. How do you come to the World Cup without knowing who your number one 'keeper is?

Unless they take it easy or are stage frightened, I see them beating Algeria by 2 goal difference.

Algeria are coming into their match fairly weakened, although they still have some solid players like Karim Ziani, Karim Matmour and Nadir Belhadj just to name a few. They don't have their creative force Mourad Meghni and the fact that they left out Yacine Bezzaz from RCS is shocking.
