Group D: Germany, Australia, Serbia, Ghana

Too bad they won't be playing USA in the quarterfinals, semifinals, or Finals

 

After watching the US have their way with the Aussies, I was expecting a Germany beating, but this was more extensive than I would have anticipated. Germany look like a strong competitor, even if this was against weak competition.

 

Good performance by Germany but they won't get far!

 

I was expecting to lose, but something like 1-0, 2-0, or 2-1; that I could have handled.

But to lose 4-0, and to have your best player red carded (thus missing the next match), and playing generally like a bunch of petulant schoolboys; is completely unacceptable.

 

Time to overhaul that national team.

 

Should have more Croatians on the team. (there's hundreds of thousands of them there)

 

I hope they can bounce back.

 

I hope Germany beats Serbia 10-0 on Friday. I want them knocked out fast. haha

 

I doubt it, CK. Serbia will be desperate for points against the Germans and I still expect them to go through to the next round. I'm hoping that the Aussies pick up their game and draw with Ghana, but Serbia have already put themselves in a bad position.

 

What?! I like Serbia! One of my favorites of the tournament.

 

I'm just impatiently waiting for a long range blast from Kolarov. That guy has the hardest shot in the game since Roberto Carlos.

 

lol yeah it won't be that bad of a score, but still Germans will win at least by 2 goal difference. (unless they want Serbia to go with them on the group and give a tie to them)

 

Carlos was the man, wish he was still playing.

 

Watch Kolarov and you'll have flashbacks. The incredible thing is that Kola's free kicks from way out still bend and usually never lose velocity. I have never seen anything like what he can do.

Žigić is an absolute giant.

 

Lukas Podolski fires a ferocious volley that flies just wide of the post. Would of been no stopping that.

 

Slow start for both nations.

 

I have no idea how people on the West Coast would watch these games. I feel bad for them.
