The Tulsa Shock did better with the turnover issue Saturday night, but couldn't contain the WBNA's highest-scoring team.

The Phoenix Mercury received a combined 50 points from starters Diana Taurasi, Candice Dupree and Penny Taylor and 14 off the bench from Taylor Lilley and raced to a record 116-84 win at the U.S. Airways Center.

The 116 points broke the Mercury's own WNBA single-game record of 115, set last year against Sacramento. Brooke Smith put the Mercury over the top with a layup in the closing seconds.

Phoenix also administered Tulsa's most lopsided loss of the season. The Shock's previous widest margin of defeat came in a 95-70 loss at Chicago last weekend.

Losing its third straight on the road and second in as many nights, the Shock fell to 3-6. The defending league champion Mercury improved to 5-5.
