Strangely silent on the Blazer front regarding workouts..... I did find one player who is scheduled to come in and workout...Matt Bouldin http://www.hoopsworld.com/Story.asp?story_id=16456 http://www.draftexpress.com/profile/Matt-Bouldin-1154/ It would be nice to hear who the Blazers are planning to bring in for workouts......
With all of the turmoil and uncertainty surrounding the front office, I'm guessing the PR machine is temporarily unplugged. Either that, or they're not working anybody out because they want to be coy and keep things close to the chest ... or really, maybe it boils down to the fact that Kevin Seraphin supposedly has a guarantee from a team in the first round and that team is the Blazers.
Ask and ye shall receive. 95.5 is reporting that the Blazers are having 6 guys coming in for workouts today, including Gani Lawal, Larry Sanders, and Jerome Randle.
Teams have gone more toward group workouts with a lot of teams being present this year it seems like.
TRAIL BLAZERS PRE-DRAFT WORKOUT SCHEDULE – TUESDAY, JUNE 15 WHAT: Schedule of Portland Trail Blazers pre-draft workouts for Tuesday, June 15 WHO: Osiris Eldridge, Guard (Illinois State); Marquez Haynes, Guard (Texas-Arlington); Gani Lawal, Forward, Georgia Tech; Elijah Millsap, Forward (Alabama-Birmingham); Jerome Randle, Guard (California); Larry Sanders, Forward (Virginia Commonwealth). WHEN: Workouts are scheduled to begin at 9:30 a.m., with media access starting at approximately 10:30 a.m., and availability to follow. WHERE: Trail Blazers Practice Facility 7325 SW Childs Road
Apparently they have workouts scheduled for the rest of the week, anyone have any information on who will be at these other workouts? I am assuming Bouldin will be here for Wed\Thurs. Wasn't Randle a guy that there has been some speculation POR is interested in? Sanders is another and I think POR worked out (or attempted to) Lawal last year.
As much I like his game too, and I probably don't like it as much as you do, he is scary small. 5'10 with a 6' wingspan...In fact ,according to DraftExpress, his standing reach (7' 4.5") is 2 inches shorter than that off the second smallest player EVER measured and recorded in the last 20 years. For comparison sake, Jameer Nelson's reach is 7' 11".
That is too bad. He must have got a promise from a team picking much higher than where they envision Portland picking.
Sweet good to see. It was pretty obvious he made a big impact on his college team as soon as he joined.
Actually, I think a big sleeper in the draft could be Derrick Caracter...... http://www.draftexpress.com/profile/Derrick-Caracter-233/ Apparently he has looked good in workouts as well......
Actually after reading the scouting report on him, he is the exact type of player who I stay away from. He has holes in his game all over the place, and seems to have had a checkered past, but somehow is a workout wonder.
