"The kid was pretty special today at the right time," Marinersacting manager John McLaren said. "We didn't have many guys inthe bullpen today and there were a couple of guys who weren'tgoing out there no matter what."

McLaren has managed the last three games for Mike Hargrove, whowas away attending his daughter's high school graduation.

Victor Diaz hit a pair of home runs and drove in five runs forTexas.

After Diaz's three-run homer in the fourth, Feierabend allowedjust two singles the rest of the way before leaving with one outin the eighth.

"I don't know how to describe it, it's just incredible," saidFeierabend of his feelings about his effort. "I couldn't believethat there was a chance I could get my first major league win. It's very special."

Rangers starter Robinson Tejeda (4-6) went 5 2/3 innings, allowing eight hits and eight runs, walking three and strikingout four to absorb his third consecutive loss.

Lopez, who had four hits for the second time in his career, hita bases-loaded double to cap a five-run fourth inning and givethe Mariners a 6-4 advantage.

"(Lopez) is a pretty good player," Rangers manager RonWashington said. "But all it would have been was hits if we madesome plays prior to the time he came up to the plate. But, wedidn't, so we ended up paying for it. They scored nine runs onsome miscues."

Raul Ibanez extended his hitting streak to 11 games when heopened the fourth inning with a single and Ben Broussard drew aone-out walk. Tejeda hit Willie Bloomquist with two outs toload the bases and backup catcher Jamie Burke singled to thirdto score one run.

Ichiro Suzuki drew a bases-loaded walk to score the second runof the inning. Lopez followed with his bases-clearing doubleoff the top of the left field fence to give the Mariners a 6-4lead.

Lopez, batting second for the first time this year, greeted himwith an infield single that second baseman Ian Kinsler threwaway at first for an error. Lopez wound up at second and Ichiroat third. Guillen doubled to center for two more runs andIbanez hit a run-scoring single that capped the inning.

Tejeda's throwing error helped the Mariners jump on top 1-0 withan unearned run in the first inning. Lopez hit a grounder backto Tejeda, who threw it wide of first, allowing Lopez to go tothird base, where he on scored on Jose Guillen's single.

"Tejada did his job, but the defense didn't help him out at all,and that's what cost us the ballgame," Washington said.

The Rangers manager was also less than complimentary aboutFeierabend's effort on the mound.

"To me he didn't have nothing," Washington said. "He did a goodjob. I thought we banged him pretty good, but when he got thelead, anybody can pitch with a lead like that. He wouldn't havebeen in there if we got out of that (fourth) inning. Iguarantee you he wouldn't have been around, cause he certainlywasn't fooling anybody."

Mark Teixeira tied the game 1-1 in the second with his 11thhomer, a shot over the center field fence that just eluded theglove of a leaping Ichiro.
