The Knicks have put together a committee of New York's biggest celebrities to help bring free agents to the team this summer.

Of course, LeBron James is the biggest prize.

"New York would be a great thing for LeBron," said Donald Trump, who is joined on the committee by Alec Baldwin, Tracy Morgan, Boomer Esiason and Spike Lee.

"He would take over the city," said Trump of James. "I am in many different cities, but I can tell you, LeBron, there is only one New York."

Sources told the New York Post that the stars are expected to meet with free agents and even show them around the city.

"You really want to live in Cleveland? That's what I would tell him. Where do you want to live?" Chris Rock told the Post.

The panel is also expected to include talk-show host Charlie Rose, John McEnroe, Donny "The Big Idea" Deutsch, Whoopi Goldberg, Mark Messier, Phil Simms, Willis Reed, Walt Frazier and Earl "The Pearl" Monroe.

Because celebrities are clearly going to win over LeBron for New York.

It's plain and simple, want LeBron? Offer cash (which Cleveland can do, New York can't offer quite as much, although it could arguably be made up in marketing...I don't buy that for a second, mind you, but it's arguable), and offer the chance to play for a title next year.

    Not two years from now.

    Not three years from now.

    Next year.

Cleveland, Miami, Chicago, they can offer that. New York, plain and simple, can't IMHO. Even if you sign Bosh, who plays the five? Who runs the point?

I disagree. If LeBron wins a title in New York please believe that there will be way more marketing opportunities in the financial capital of the world than there will be in Cleveland.

I don't think the above teams, maybe except Miami, can offer more than New York. LeBron seems better suited with another superstar to consistently take pressure off of him than with lower-tiered stars like Mo Williams and Jamison. If we sign LeBron/Bosh there are multiple options: Eddy Curry/whatever for Okafor/Collison. If we had a lineup of:

    PG: Collison
    SG: James
    SF: Gallo
    PF: Bosh
    C: Okafor

    Bench:
    Chandler
    Douglas

That's enough to compete for a championship, I would say.
