I've been wearing contact lenses since around 2001 and I can feel that the lenses, new or not, are irritating my eyes. So, I'm thinking of getting eyeglasses. The main reason why I like contacts is the lenses for people with astigmatism are horrible, they de-magnify your eye appearance by at least 50%! I really hate that look. Do high index lenses really make a difference?
My wife has very poor vision and has a pretty thick lens. The high index are feather light. She's really pleased with them. Got them at COSTCO. Good price.
I wear both glasses and contacts, i'm around -6 diopters. One thing I find amusing, is that you can see chromatic aberration towards the edges. But yes, it is going to make your eye look smaller because it must magnify that much, it's just how the glasses work. It's like trying to find a telescope/binoculars that don't looks smaller down one end.
I've looked into that. People with astigmatism, Lasik isn't always the best option. http://www.visianinfo.com/ ICL lense surgery is the way to go, apparently, if you have astigmatism.
Just pick a frame that fits the smallest possible lenses, and then pay extra to make the lenses thinner. The optometrist can help. He's had the same request a million times.
If I may make a suggestions http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tVoRkCwpj_w"]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tVoRkCwpj_w
