I'm the same way. I'll watch but not interested. When I first got League Pass, I did...but now I just follow the Blazers....and hope the L*kers lose.

Won't watch these finals because I'm pretty sure the L*kers will win, and I personally can't stand to watch that shit. I'll follow on twitter and box scores and if the Celtics have a big huge lead or its super close at crunch time I'll flip it on. Don't think it will even be close. Crowd will be ready...celtics missing Perkins....and Celtics really playing terribly in the finals.

pretty crazy, after the parade last year, they actually took it into the bar that my neighbor owns which is down the street from me....a few of the Laker brass lives in my area (Jerry Buss and PhilJax) and I think they go to the bar at times.

I have only been able to stomach probably 15 minutes total of the first six games, so tommorrow night will probably be the same. Lost most of my enthusiasm for the playoffs when Mauer was reffing last round and am livid that he got two final games.

Cannot root for the Lakers or Boston either.

Re: Anyone else voluntarily not watching Game 7 tomorrow?

I cannot WAIT for the game. I love the NBA and when the Blazers get eliminated, I pick another team that I can get behind. If that team loses, I pick another. Bandwagonning? Absolutely. But it either has to do with a player I like (Clyde Drexler, Reggie Miller, Rasheed Wallace, LeBron James), the odds against the team (1994 Nuggets, 2008 Hawks, any team that played MJ's Bulls), the locality of the team (Knicks, Nets since I have a home in NYC), a friend's interest (my partner is from Ohio, one of my best friends is a Celtics fan), and a hatred for another team (Lakers). As you can imagine, The team I root for in the Finals usually loses so it's very sweet when my team wins. Since 1990, the only teams that I have rooted for in the Finals that have won are the 1995 Rockets, 2004 Pistons, 2006 Heat, and 2008 Celtics. I will be soooooo happy if the Celtics win tomorrow night and as I said, I cannot wait for tip off.

Nice factoid, Platypus. I like it.

Here's mine. Phil struggles with closing out championship series in his first try. He's only 10-5 in title winning games.

KingSpeed, your explanation of why you root for other teams in the playoffs is the most rational thing I've ever seen you say, and I agree with it. Repped.

I only like the Blazers. In fact, I might rock a Blazers Beat LA shirt tomorrow if I do go to that celtics bar.

After additional thought, no matter who wins game 7, it's a win-win for me. If the C's win, then my least favorite team in any sport get their heart ripped out and I'll laugh at their misery. If the Lakers win, I get to see all the bandwagon wannabe gangsta Laker fans burn down that piece of shit city. So yeah - can't wait!

Re: Anyone else voluntarily not watching Game 7 tomorrow?

    No.

I would watch this game if any two other teams were involved.

However, since I fucking hate both of these team's ass wipe, entitled fan bases I will probably not watch.
No matter who wins, some smug douche bag will be smiling, jumping up and down and proclaiming that the title is now "back where it belongs".

I would rather watch old soap opera reruns that be subjected to that bullshit.

Re: Anyone else voluntarily not watching Game 7 tomorrow?

That's actually true. I'm not a fan of the NBA, I'm a fan of the Blazers. I could care less about college basketball, or high school basketball.

If it was possible to rep someone times a billion, this post would deserve it. Well done. My thoughts exactly.

I would compare basketball to porn. The Lakers and Boston are the dudes and the other 28 teams are the chicks. I need one of the other teams to be in the ball game or it is like watching gay porn.

Please, someone from LA has no business judging other fans. You people are the most fickle, bandwagon jumping, entitled and unenthusiastic fanbase in America. So GTFO and start filling the bottles with kerosene. If I watch it will be in the hope that the roof might collapse.

So you were also neighbors with Kwame Brown? Any interesting stories about him?
