No they can't. That would be tampering.

I'm sure that Quick is right that Pritchard is doing everything in his power to come up with a "too good to pass up" kind of deal that Paul Allen will have to sign off on, and will protect KP's job for years to come. But that's what every GM in the league tries to do every year - and at the same time, GMs are trying to make sure no other team makes that kind of move at their expense.

I think it's big time wishful thinking to say that KP is going to line up a trade for an all-star. Would he like to? Sure. But is he going to come up with a proposal that brings in that kind of talent, that doesn't give up too many important pieces? That's always the challenge.

I'll be happy if something comes through, but I'm not holding my breath.

Not without the NBA investigating tampering charges. Teams can't talk to agents or players until July 1st. Players can't keep their mouths shut. Twitter, facebook or something would come out. Won't be a Bosh, Amare, LeBron or Wade. I think Chris Paul, Iggy, or Tony Parker are more realistic, even though it would be tough to get any of those three without losing Batum IMO. Parker is probably our best shot, but he would be expensive. They won't dump him for expiring contracts only and Rudy is not a Popovich kind of player.

They're bringing Dale Davis out of retirement.

My best guess is Tony Parker, which would be a nice addition.

I think it'd have to be a 3 team deal, because our best asset (for trading purposes) is a reason why the spurs might be trading Parker. Andre Miller.

I just hope it's not a Jamaal Magloire type all-star.

A SF is the last thing this team needs.

If it is actually someone that will make PA say yes easily, then I don't think an Aldridge for Iggy type of swap is really going to get it done. Iguodola doesn't jump off the page to Allen as someone to make us a top team. I think Parker would jump off the page a bit more. Paul obviously would. I think Dirk would, and would make us a legit title threat next season. Harris doesn't really seem like a job saver. Granger could be, but again, does that make PA think we're there?

Not a guy many would like, but this guy would help our low post scoring a lot. Doubt it will save KP's job. If sure you were joking, but I would love Kamen and Camby front court off the bench. Oden/LMA and Kaman/Camby. Maybe the best front court in the NBA.

What about Jameer Nelson or Mo Williams? Both seem like guys that could play off of Brandon and both technically have been All-Stars.

Edit: Neither guy really seems like a job-saver, though.

I just don't see either of those as saving KP's job. They'd both perhaps be decent additions, but is adding Jameer Nelson going to make Paul Allen re-think KP, if adding Miller, Camby, etc. has not? I don't think so. It's unlikely something will happen. Trading for an all star is tough to do. But it says it'd be someone Allen wouldn't be able to turn down. Neither of those guys says that to me like Parker. Or Dirk. A big name, basically.
