Awful refereeing today in both matches so far, but that call to disallow the Edu goal was the worst I've seen so far. Not only was Bradley being bear hugged, but Altidore and Dempsey were both being brought down. Take your pick of which would be called for the penalty kick. The match should have been 3-2 to the USA.

I will add one last thing though about Slovenia ... I told you so.

To be honest, that isn't directly at anyone here, but more so towards most of the American and English fans that believed they would breeze into the round of 16. I remember that World Cup post I made here before the qualifying groups were even selected I chose Slovenia to go through no matter where they were placed. You and I were discussing qualifiers on MSN and you told me that you agreed they could pull it off. The shameful thing is that Belgium isn't here, but I guess we'll have to wait until EURO 2010 for that young squad to show off what they can do. Fear Eden Hazard!!

Very true. Belgium have a fantastic squad, I'm sad they aren't in this tournament. Eden Hazard was amazing.

 

Yeah, Heskey really isn't as bad as people make him out to be. He won almost every ball against the US, too bad we couldn't do anything with it.

 

I thought it would be easy for England and USA to make it, and it would have been had England gotten 3 pts from US, then US beat Slovenia, the last match would have been easy. Now every team has a chance. (well except algeria)
