I have actually heard it wasn't for an offsides. It was deemed a foul due to pushing in the box. Awful call.
Apparently the ref called a foul on Maurice Edu, while ignoring the equal shoving he was getting, the tackle on Bocanegra, and the muggings being handed to Altidore and Bradley. The only people who weren't being fouled on that play were the Slovenians and the referee, yet some how he fucked it up. If Slovenia qualify and the US miss out by two points this will make two WCs in three where we were jobbed out of a result. The non-call on the handball by Frings in 2002 is only worse because of the situation it was in.
You say that about Bradley and he didn't even get the worst of it. Bocanegra was taken done in one of the better tackles I have seen since watching the USA Collegiate Rugby Sevens Championship a couple weeks ago.
