Jason Terry of the Dallas Mavericks has been suspended one game without pay for punching San Antonio?s Michael Finley, it was announced today by Stu Jackson, NBA Senior Vice President Basketball Operations. The incident occurred with 3.4 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter of the Mavericks 98-97 loss to the Spurs last night at AT&T Center. Terry will serve his suspension Friday night as the Mavericks host the Spurs for Game 6 of the Western Conference Semifinals.http://realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives/405...ds_jason_terry/This is huge for San Antonio. Harris is gunna have to take on a much bigger role, and Darrell Armstrong will probably see a little action. This series is still anyone's game, especially with this.
I don't get why he was suspended, I've seen the replays and even during the game I did not see any punch, all I remember is Fin getting upset and wanted to go after Terry, then started saying he got punched. To me what I saw was Fin jumped on top of Terry taking his headband off, and no foul was called, so any punch had a reason to it. This just sucks though, and with Crawford guaranteed to call one of the last 2 games, it's looking bad. 0-9 when Crawford refs our playoff games. Will it be 0-10?
If a punch did happen...I Didn't see that one coming, Finley and Terry seem like great guys for the most part, just another negative thing for the NBA...there have already been more flagrant fouls right now then all of last year's playoffs combined, stuff like this gives NBA haters another reason to pick at it
I'm pissed. these suspensions have gone past unreasonable. This game is HUGE, you can't just suspend a star player. F*ck you david stern.
You guys realize Evans was not suspended for his nut grab, and Terry is suspended for this? <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>I'm pissed. these suspensions have gone past unreasonable. Exactly, I didn't see a punch, and even if their was a little nudge, thats playoff basketball man!!! And the nut grab by Evans was 20 times worse. That's just wrong. David Stern needs to resign, everyone hates him and he gets booed in EVERY arena (even when he is passing out the championship rings!).Now if the Spurs end up winning the series, you know damn well every Mavs fan will say "It's because of Terry's suspension." And you know, they might be right. Just let the damn players play the game, nothing even happened.
sucks for mavs fans.LOL GO SPURS.nah i'm kidding but ouch. david stern with another handicap for the spurs. this years playoffs are just full of controversies and stuff huh?crazy. crazy.
I saw the play where he punched Finley. I don't think he should've gotten suspended for it though, maybe a fine, but it wasn't even that bad. This is a big blow for the Mavericks
lol that was stupid. Not that big of a deal. I know Devin Harris will step up and attack the rim like he's on speed. And all the other guys wil step upo too. I hope we get to see a Game 7 here.
I didn't see it but it doesn't seem like Jason Terry is the kind of person to try to hurt someone bad like that.

But suspension? Evans grabbed and groped Kaman's balls and didn't get suspended. Terry's was half as bad and it was merely a little baby punch to get Finley off of him! Fined, maybe, but less than Evans'. Suspension? Are you kidding me?
I have never been more angry than I am right now with David Stern. Someone needs to take his power away. He is an ***hole.
It is easy to see why Terry was suspended. Yes, he did take a shot at Finley's groin... and the NBA rule clearly states that any closed-fist punch is an automatic one-game suspension. I still do believe it is outrageous that Reggie Evans wasn't suspended for what he did to Kaman.
The other part of that rule, says it's open for league review...So Stern and Stu Jackson, could have taken the game, the situation, and what happened into account, and decided a fine was in order.I mean Finley didn't rush to get off of him, and Terry said that Finley was kinda pushing his head into the floor...But whatever...Let's see how the series turns out before I get too pissed about it.
Well, what's happened is what's happened... but if Dirk comes up with a huge game, it'll help the league alot with drama.
I actually think Stack will have to have a big game, and then either DAniels or KVH have a good game too.
Stackhouse started to look slower last game. I think he is starting to look fatigued. I would've gone with Daniels to see if he produces. If he does than you got Stackhouse off the bench as well. I think Daniels is a rhythm player that plays much better as a starter. Too bad Avery doesn't see that.
Well Avery's a little smarter than any of us, and he hasn't made any mistakes so far, and even if he did, it's second guessing by us, not really a mistake by him.He must see something in Stack that he doesn't in Daniels yet...besides this still means Daniels will get tons of playing time.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>I think Daniels is a rhythm player that plays much better as a starter.</div> Too bad he's a backup player, if he can't adapt to playing off the bench that's terrible. Well this sucks, we lost game 6 and now were heading back to San Antonio. Finley has burned us for what, the third straight game? For a time when Devin was supposed to step up, he failed, he only showed some life in the 4th quarter but still missed gimmes. Whoever told him to stop flushing it, needs to tell him it's ok to do it when he has the chance. Stackhouse started great then faded badly, Dirk seemed like the only player out there to win. Let's hope we close out like we did against the Rockets.
