Espn just showed a few interviews with English fans. The consensus for the booing seems to be the fact that they "Paid a lot of money to travel half way around the world" and they didn't think they were getting what they paid for effort wise. One guy did say that the fans should stick behind the team no matter what, however.

I think soccer/football is closer to a religion than a sport in England and I can see why people would be upset, but you have to stick with your team no matter what.

    you?

I think it is a cop out by the fans. You don't go to the World Cup expecting to win every game, that is foolish. England aren't what they're made up to be but I can completely understand how the fans are let down by yesterday's performance. I don't think I would boo the team but I would be (am) a very nervous fan.

Many people eat, breathe, and sleep football, which gives them no excuse to boo their team. They most likely all follow a league in England so they should be able to understand that teams lose form and confidence as easy as anything. I'm confident we will bounce back but I hope it is not too late.

Listen, I can deeply understand the English fans booing. While I agree that buying a WC ticket should not entitle you to expect a victory. I put myself on those fans shoes. They traveled far, they forked out thousands to root for their nation, only to see them fail miserably to average or sometimes good teams, because thats what they are, they are not Germany, Italy, Spain, Brazil, Argentina. The fans have every right to boo them, they don't have to settle for that shit, if it don't work, then fix it and replace those pampered prima donnas who can't take the pride and pressure for their country.

Haven't these guys been together for a while(ie. gelling isn't an issue)? Is it just a matter of chemistry with the England squad, because they sure as hell have all the talent that's necessary to succeed.
