Wow, some scientists or writers are really bored on this one. However i found it intriguing. http://shine.yahoo.com/event/green/...dishes-before-loading-the-dishwasher-1677291/ I guess now, all I have to do is scrape off the food. Wow, I just saved 15 minutes or more! Hahahaha
Don't pay any attention. That's what they want you to believe. Don't you understand? It's the trail to liberty, no, its the pathway to perdition, no it's the road to serfdom! Scrape not your food, serf, lest ye suffer and die! barfo
If you are typical, you are also using between twice and eight times as much detergent as you should in both the dishwasher and washing machine. Only use one fabric softener sheet. And run the self-cleaner on the oven at least twice a year. Great article on the subject: http://www.nytimes.com/2010/03/13/your-money/13shortcuts.html?src=me&ref=general
The difference between my dishwashers is amazing. I never pre-rinse in LO; in Denver I have to scrape off every piece of food. I read this article yesterday and still believe there can be no fast or fixed rule. I actually think it's worth the price to replace your dishwasher if it won't do the job. That's where we're headed when we re-model our kitchen this Fall.
