I'm at the front when it comes to hating player comparisons when comparing young talent to old stars. But look at what LeBron is doing, he has taken over NBA discussions and he IS THE NBA right now. I picked my brother up from class today in Wisconsin and saw 5 kids wearing LeBron jerseys. NBA fans who don't like Cleveland are jumping on the bandwagon. Like Jordan you can't really hate LeBron, he goes out their and does what he does. I'm not saying he is Jordan or becoming the next Jordan (with titles or anything), i'm just saying with worldwide popularity do you think he's going to reach that status? He's only 21 years old. Ridiculous.

This year he has really shown something in the playoffs. Now whether he becomes a worldwide known name like Jordan is still to decided.Like you said he is 21,many injuries can still happen. If he at least wins 1 championship within the upcoming years,he will definitely hit worldwide status.Hell,I bet his shoe is in the top of shoe sales.

He's becoming clutch in the playoffs. And he's so young, I think when it's all said and done LeBron James will be one of the greatest players in the history of the NBA if not the greatest. And regularguy Kobe is still up there with AI n the rest of them regardless of his actions off the court

I don't know if Kobe was that high before the rape allegations...a lot of people hated him then (because he's a Lakers) LeBron plays on a loser and people like that he's bringing a shithole up.

LeBron is on almost every single level, Jordanesque at this point in his career. The only thing missing is the fist full of rings that MJ has. LeBron and Jordan have one thing in common, its that they're more than just basketball players, they're entertainers, and icons. They both took, and in LeBron's case, is still taking the NBA to a whole new level. I mean, you know you're a special player when you get a fast break at an away game, and the fans go crazier than they do for their hometeam. Back in Jordan's prime, he was what every kid who ever played basketball want to be like, "Be Like Mike" they said. Now, kids who are too young to know Jordan's game completely, are decked out in all their LBJ gear, and want to be like LeBron. Not only is he in another-world athletically, and basketball skill wise, but he is a media dream, and an icon to kids not just from America, but all over the world. However, here is what makes LeBron, "Jordanesque", or even better than that, is that Jordan undoubtedly was a member of one of the greatest teams in NBA history. Jordan, Pippen, Rodman, Paxson, Grant etc... and naturally they were able to win games, shown by their NBA record 72 wins. But here is what makes LBJ so special. You dont need me to tell you that Larry Hughes is no Scottie Pippen, and that Drew Gooden isn't the dominating rebounder Rodman was, and so on, and so forth. LeBron though, is proving people wrong who believe in TEAM basketball. Detroit is the epitome of a great team. Winning 64 games, just 8 shy of Jordan and his Bull's record, is obviously a sign of a great TEAM. However, LeBron is single-handedly picking apart the best team in the NBA today, and doing it in so many different ways. He's recorded Triple-Double's, high scoring outputs, and he's even had the rare "off"-game. Through all of this, LeBron has willed his team to wins, his TEAM, that as a whole isn't even close to the level of the Detroit Pistons, but they dont need to be, because they have #23. Never since Jordan has there been a player so good, that he alone could beat the best teams in basketball. Until now.Sorry for the long post, but in answer to your question. LeBron is in pretty much every way, Jordanesque, and he's only going to continue building his legacy until he retires, as one of, if not THE greatest players of all time.

Once lebron gets caught doing something, he's reputation is going to go down the drain. It's bound to happen. Does anyone remember earlier this season when lebron used to choke and there were all these articles flirting around degrading him as a basketball player? And saying melo and lebron was an actual comparision? It'll happen.Never since Jordan has there been a player so good, that he alone could beat the best teams in basketball. Until now.Oh my goodness, have you heard a guy named kobe? who single handedly destroyed the spurs and kings in 2001? Have you heard of a guy named allen iverson?

The one time they did make the finals they got destroyed by the Lakers. They never beat the best team in the league in the playoffs.

I actually hate to say it. But I think he will reach Jordan status. The biggest question was his leadership, not his talent. Everyone knew that he was the most complete player in the game. But now look at what Lebron has done. He has led his crap ass team to a 3-1 lead over the frickin best team in the nation. How the hell did he do that? That's something only Jordan himself could muster. I do believe that he will get a few rings and will be #2 on the list of greatest players ever.

The pistons were better? If the cavs lose it's because they choked, not because the pistons were better. I expect you to admit that if it happens.Anyhow lebron is not 21 and is from the domincan republic. He's not jordanesque [IMG]

Lebron from the Dominican Republic? :lol:It will be choking if the Cavs lose. I seriously dont expect them to though. Lebron will be pumped up. I expect him to have a near 50 point game to lead the Cavs over the hump.

Yeah and he's not 21 [IMG] And lebron will not score 50, how many times has he scored 50 and they've won? He knows it and will probably try to get his teamates involved [like he always do] and take over. I'm rooting for the cavs to knock them off, i still havent forgiven what they did to my lakers [IMG] GO GO GO LEBRON [cavs]

lebron has really responded to all the critics who said he fades in the 4th quarter by hitting game winner after game winner. he responded to the critics that said he can't make it in the playoffs by carrying his team to 3 straight wins over the world champs. lebron will be known worldwide but he needs a ring before that happens and i know he will get one soon. hell if he can beat the pistons it's possible he gets that ring this season.

No matter what, Iverson and Kobe can single-handedly beat ANY team in the league on ANY given night, as can LeBron.I think LeBron still has a ways to go before he can have the global impact that Jordan had. Hell, I think Iverson and perhaps Kobe are the only players in the league right now who have a big global impact (other than of course the foreign players). I believe both of them had higher jersey sales in China than Yao had. LeBron is an great player, but I have yet to see that global impact that Jordan, or even AI/Kobe, had. Can he do it? Absolutely, but it'll take some more time.

With what the media loads on him his popularity will skyrocket, and it's already damn high now... much higher than Jordan's, Kobe's, or AI's when they were his age (whatever it is, thanks a lot Dominican Republic)

He will probably take over the NBA by the time he makes his defense Jordan like, or at least at Kobe's level, and gets to the Finals.Just from my point of view, I think Kobe was never a Jordan like Lebron is now, is because he was on a Lakers team with Shaq. That's why I think.

Everyone said will he live up to the hype? He has done that. Then everyone said well he can't win games in the clutch. He has done that. Then everyone said well he hasn't proven anything until he does this in the playoffs ala Dwyane Wade. He has done that. Now people are going to say well he's gotta win rings. He will do that. He has gone far and beyond what everyone's expectations of him were.
