Their format sucks, but they sure have a lot of activity. Maybe you should do some soliciting, try to get them to migrate to SportsTwo. Who knows, maybe DC'll kick you a commission!
This trade makes absolutely no sense unless it's part of a bigger picture. Sending over 1 million to a team for a non guaranteed 2nd rounder makes no sense at all. 10 spots in the second round, even in the deepest of drafts, isn't that big of a deal. This has to be a case where some team said they would make a deal if the Blazers had a better pick in round 2 or something. That is the only way I can see this making any sense for Portland. Maybe this is part of KP's big job saving deal or something? For a team that's rebuilding, like Philly, Toronto or NJ, having multiple draft picks is a good thing. The higher the better. Portland DOES NOT NEED more young players, or guys to stash over seas
If the DX twitter report is accurate, neither Gani Lawal or Trevor Booker are going to be there @ #44. While @ #34, there's a chance you could at least trade up to get them if someone takes them before you or they will be there to take more than likely.
That's funny. That's the same sound your wife makes in this one possition. All kidding aside, I think most think that. Do you have any knowledge of anything?
Paying over 1 million for either of those guys is stupid though. This has panic written all over it. Like a pick that NEEDED to be acquired
If we had to pay ~$3million for buying picks at the end of the first round buying a pick for ~$1million in the early second sounds like a reasonable price.
I like this move for the reasons that it shows KP won't be a lame duck GM eventhough he thinks he maybe on the way out and PA is giving KP some leeway. Last year the Blazers moved up in the second round and did not package the move. Second round picks have value because the contracts are not guarenteed. Moving up in the seond round could indicate they are targeting someone they want to try out for a year. I hope it is to package the pick, but that isn't what it meant last year.
