For months, the Bulls have talked internally and whispered to organizational confidantes about the desire either to possess enough salary-cap space to sign two big-name free agents outright or engineer a sign-and-trade for one and acquire another with cap space.

The NBA draft may be Thursday, but July 1 — the start of free agency — still dominates management's plans.

League sources continue to indicate the Bulls are shopping the 17th pick and trying to package it with long-term contracts to clear even more cap space than the projected $20 million to $22 million they currently possess. A maximum free-agent salary will start at roughly $16.5 million.

I just dont know who we could ship the pick, kirk, and deng for. The raptors are def gonna ask for Noah in a S&T for Bosh, plus with Bosh saying he doesnt want to be a sidekick, I could see him possibly getting upset if playing with lebron and rose. I think we trade the pick and Deng (or hinrich, maybe both) for a later pick and maybe a role player or two (that is pietrus or gortat) to add depth to the bench. I say we get Dirk and Lebron and call it a day.

Bosh is all hat and no cattle.

He'd jump at the chance to play with LeBron and Rose.

The last time I heard the phrase "all hat and no cattle" it was spoken by Hillary Clinton before the Texas primaries. Denny Crane, giving away his political leanings?

Hahaha wow. And I know he'd love to play with Rose and Lebron, but you never know with some players. Boozer DID tell the Cavs he was gonna resign with them before he skipped town to Utah.

Bosh has been banished to NBA marketing hell, where the only way you can make money from commercials is if you wear skates. I wouldn't be surprised if he jumped at the chance to be The Man (TM) in New York City. He doesn't seem as committed to me about winning, and he has never really talked up the Bulls in any interviews. I'm still guessing LA or NY.

If Lebron didn't look so interested, Bosh would look a lot more like our cattle than old hat.
