In the Congo, women are mass raped with guns, knives, tools, literally torn to pieces, as an act of war. Rape starts with attitude. There are societies that have much higher rates of rape than others and we all have the same human genes. Attitudes towards women, towards violence, what is admired in a man (physical toughness vs. mental/emotional characteristics), overall security, wealth equality and opportunity - these are what impact rape. Not gadgets. Mind you, I think a woman is justified in doing anything to stop/catch a rapist, but tricks ultimately won't solve the problem. Do you know, there are countries where young girls, 14, 15, 16, walk home from movies and parties at midnight and no one thinks to worry about their safety?

It is the year 2010, we could modernize the chastity belt and equip them with pepper spray that gets anyone within 3 feet of it when the belt is removed improperly. It could be all digital and have a code that is required to remove it. If I were a woman, I would rather get the pepper spray along with the perp over getting initial penetration.
