No one knows if he can or not, because he hasn't gotten there, we might end up seeing. Steve Kerr hit big shots in the finals of games, does that make him as equal in clutch shots as Kobe Bryant?</div>Steve kerr's clutch shots were created for him. Kobe bryant's shots weren't. That's what makes MJ more clutch than robert horry. And at the moment lebron has not been to the nba finals. But he also hasnt had a preformance like kobe had on the road. Therefore, we can only look through what we have.

Also he had some very good games in the Wizards house, so he has performed on the road in this playoffs.

I remember the 2003 playoffs also when he went clutch on the mavs [or was it the nets].
Dude, i wasn't talking about Steve Kerr there. You said that "Lebron hasn't had a performance on the road like Kobe had." So i brought up the 32 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists, Lebron had last game, and the games he had in Washington. That was along time ago I can't really remember how Kobe hit those shots, if he created them himself or if someone else got him the ball. But now all of a sudden there is criteria for hitting the clutch shots, you can't just hit them, you have to hit them with people in front of you and dribbling on your own to make the shots.
I'm talking about Steve kerr.In game 6 against the mavs he was very clutch, did not miss a shot. 12 points of the bench.edit: Shooting over two people and hitting an open shot are not the same/
I know it's not the same, i play alot of basketball, i can't shoot well with one person standing in front of me let alone two. I am just saying, that early it was just clutch shooting, who hit the shots in the clutch. Now all of a sudden, it's clutch shooting with people standing in front of you.

The degree of diffuculty determines how clutch it is [and the circumstances].
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Melo_061 @ May 19 2006, 08:12 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>If you play well in the playoffs, you're clutch. It's given. But there are some people who cannot make clutch shots. Just look at peja, he airballed a shot in the corner by himself against the lakers [with a few seconds left]. That's choking.Kobe game 4 was clutch. That's the difference.</div>Being clutch isnt hard, you just need to have confidence in your shot in the end of the game.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (CelticBalla32 @ May 19 2006, 01:27 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>My thoughts? Kobe was damn good at 21, but not on the same level LeBron is at 21. Another thing, these are stats. Cool, these stats also don't show LeBron's enormous edge in court vision, size, maturity, and leadership. Kobe didn't express leadership in this league until he was about 23, then he just took off as the best perimiter player in the league hands down. LeBron is already argued as the best player in the NBA by a lot of people, and came in 2nd in MVP this year (at age 21), did Kobe?</div> I agree with everything you said.
Kobe could've, without Shaq. You never know and can't make that comparison because things just didn't work out that way. If LeBron was 21 back in 2001 with Shaq on his team with his team being a contender, I doubt he would be as good as he is now. but you never know because it never happened, and neither did Kobe get the opportunity to be that leader LeBron is now back then.
First off, some of the replies in this thread are beyond ridiculous. Woohoo, LeBron performed on the road aginst the Wizards. The Wizards had T-shirts for making the second round last year. Kobe carried a team in game four of the NBA FINALS. Performing in the first round and second round is nowhere close to the NBA Finals. Comparing them is about as absurd as comparing Tierre Brown to Jason Kidd.I don't know who said it, but some talked about LeBron finishing second in MVP voting. Considering that the MVP voting this year, that's hardly a credible point. Kobe was second in first place votes if it means anything, though. That's not to say Kobe is better than LeBron at 21, but you have to consider the differences. The Cavs were built around LeBron. The Lakers were built around Shaq. LeBron got immediate playing time, Kobe didn't. Et cetera. et cetera. Completely different situations.
By stats you would go with Lebron. But Lebron is already the go to player on his team. He jacks up a lot of shots and touches the ball on pretty much every possession.

You know, making posts like that really can get you acknowledged in a board like this.
Sorry i wasn't trying to make it like playing with shaq is a bad thing. The guy in the other site made his point 2 posts long, and both were really long. I make my posts short, but anyways Shaq takes the stats from Kobe. Its like this if we pair up Allen Iverson with tracy McGrady wouldn't AI's stats down down alot. That is the point i was making.

Kobe didn't lead his team to the playoffs when he was younger he had a guiding force (Shaq) to help him out and make him better for when he left. Who did Lebron have? No one, LBJ is better.

Would Kobe have led the Lakers to the playoffs when he was 21 without Shaq though? Doubt it, I think he had 1 point in his playoff debut compared to LeBron's triple-double playoff debut.

Shaq wouldnt have won 3 rings without Kobe. Just because LeBron finally made the playoffs in his third year doesn't make him any better. And LeBron doesn't have no one. LeBron wouldn't have made the playoffs without Drew Gooden, or Zydraunas Illgauskas. And also, Eric Snow helped out a lot, and Larry Hughes in the beginning and end of the season.
