Yep. If KP leaves, he finds Born and Buchanan jobs with his new club. Virtually every front office/coaching contract includes a clause where if you receive a raise, you are allowed to get out of your current contract. We lose KP, we lose our scouting department.
It protects them, and I'm sure Pritchard was fine with it for as long as he's out of a job, which won't be long. Because once he gets a job, Born and Buchanon get title promotions with that team (along with a raise), and the Blazers go back to drafting the Sebastian Telfairs and the Martell Websters of the world.
