IF they had genuine interest in Aldridge / Batum remake of their front line (Monty pimps them hard?), then they either see a run and gun, small-ball team with Aldridge at the 5 as a direction they are willing to go; OR West can easily be dealt for value. West has a decent contract and is a 2-time all-star. They get good value for him if West wants out too - which is very likely if Paul is dealt for $ savings. They could package West with Posey - their other bad contract to really clean financial house.
I'd rather the Bulls not do this deal, since it would kill their cap space to sign LeBron. CP3 wouldn't be a bad 2nd option though. Player A: 38 MPG, 47% FG, 7.3 RPG, 2.0 APG, .9 SPG, .9 BPG, 17.6 PPG Player B: 38 MPG, 50% FG, 8.0 RPG, 2.1 APG, .9 SPG, .6 BPG, 17.9 PPG
Must be nice to live a David Stern approved media market where CP3 is a "decent second option". This summer might be all she wrote for legitimacy of this league.
